In her opinion, too much focus is currently placed on improving social skills and interactions rather than nurturing the child's natural interests which could potentially become a career path. I think about this a lot with my daughter too, and whether I'm focusing too much energy on the wrong things.anabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04473972292378576530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5441989712918579133.post-17024121194982830332013-03-28T20:41:03.234-04:002013-03-28T20:41:03.234-04:00I've tried to tape Janey a few times, but it&#...I've tried to tape Janey a few times, but it's frustrating, as she only sings when the spirit hits her, and that is not when I am taping, or at least not yet! I had told my parents for years Janey knew all the big Christmas carols, but they had never heard her until one day she got in the mood, and I put the phone on speaker and followed her around the house so they could hear! It's kind of shocking even still to me how at ease she sounds when singing as compared to talking.

Thanks so much for your kind words about my writing! It makes me think I come across better in writing than in real life, if I seem like I have endurance and dedication! Writing is my outlet, my way of getting through the day. I can't even stop myself when something is on my mind, a fact brought home to me when I was rereading my high school diaries, in which I'd written a novel's worth of material about my first big crush (although it would not make much of a novel unless people were somehow very fascinated with multi-page analyses of what every single word and look he said might possibly mean, and detailed descriptions of his wardrobe each day! Kidding aside, you made me tear up with what you wrote. It meant a lot to me.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08240262747073351481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5441989712918579133.post-78099195940662512872013-03-28T10:54:03.267-04:002013-03-28T10:54:03.267-04:00Have you ever thought of taping her when singing? ...Have you ever thought of taping her when singing? I think a lot of people would love to hear it, but also to have a record of it and see the progression. I'm also curious if whether if you made a recording (on ipad or something) and sent it to some music teachers they could give you some ideas of how to develop her talent. I think it is great she has a talent and love of music and definitely worth pursuing.
I have to say I've been reading your archives and am humbled. The quality and scope of your writing is inspiring I can only hope that I will have the endurance and dedication you do. You are my hero :) Sophie's Trainshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07774177895296697594noreply@blogger.com
